Suunto HelO₂ is the first dive computer from a mainline computer manufacturer that has full mixed gas capability. It is rated to 120 m/393 ft and incorporates the new Suunto Technical RGBM algorithm. Based on the RGBM algorithm developed by Dr. Bruce Wienke, widely recognized decompression scientist, the Suunto Technical RGMB algorithm extends decompression flexibility into the world of technical diving.

The algorithm introduces helium tissue groups in the decompression model to enable trimix diving, as well as diving on air and nitrox. It allows eight gases to be programmed as primary or secondary gases, and enables oxygen content of 8-100%, and helium content of 0-92%. For the technical diver, the great benefit of the algorithm is that it provides more flexibility and reduces task load when decompressing by removing the need to constantly monitor a slate and watch.

The rumors DomePort shared with you just days ago came out true - Canon unveiled its latest addition to the dSLR line - Canon EOS 500D (T1i in the US).  The new camera fits in the upper-entry-level segment and features 15.1 MP CMOS sensor, Full HD (1080p) movies, High ISO up to 12800 for low-light conditions, 9-point AF system and DIGIC 4 processor.

Besides the new 500D Canon released news about a new flashgun. Speedlite 270EX is supposed to replace Speedlite 220EX. It's smaller and more powerful, with a 90 degrees zoom head.Speedlite 270EX recicles for 3.9 seconds and has guide number 27.

Ikelite began producing two new ULTRACompact housings.

#6280.20 is designed to fit both Nikon CoolPix L19 & L20.
#6281.63 for Nikon CoolPix S630 will start shipping before the end of March.
Both housings measure 6" (15.2cm) wide; 4.4" (11cm) high including controls; 3.4" (8.6cm) deep including port. Camera and housing together weigh under 1.5 lbs (0.66kg) above water and are nearly neutral underwater.

Sean Fallon realeased a rumor on Gizmodo.com about the launch of the Canon EOS 500D. According to the grapevine on March 25th Canon is going to have an event anouncing the new EOS 500D.
The newest member of the EOS family is expected to have 15MP sensor and Digic ІV processor.

The new Canon 5D Mark II made a huge splash in the industry. I'd like to get one! I bet you want it too. Well, the housing manufacturers know that and they all want a piece of the pie. What's on the market and how much would it cost you to get your hands on the new hype? Here's a brief list...
 

Ikelite USA were the first to provide a housing for the 5DMkII. The #6871.02 - a traditional Ike housing was released in January 2009. The housing is depth-rated to 60m. and like all Ike dSLR housings it features integrated TTL circuitry. However, on Feb 17 Ike anounced a complimentary upgrade of the #6871.02 adding a lever-control for the Movie/Setting button. The housing is also the most affordable on the market - list price: US$1600.

Ikelite began producing a new Ultra-compact housing to fith the Olympus Stylus/Mju 6000 and 8000 digital compacts. All camera controls are fully functional through the housing and depth rated to 200ft (60m).
Housing measures 6" (15.2cm) wide; 4.4" (11cm) high including controls; 3.4" (8.6cm) deep including port. The housing weighs just 1 lb (0.45kg) above water and is nearly neutral underwater with camera installed.
