I just got a new 45mm f/2.8 lens for my GF1. They say it does 1 to 1 so now I just need 10Bar to make me a extension tube for my 20mm port so I can get it under water.

| Hi Mike, it doesn't work in the 14-45 port?

| It does. I was playing with it earlier and it seems OK. It is a dome port so I'm not sure about distortion and will try it this weekend if I can.

Ok pcremone, here are some samples from my macro lens's. Domeport reduces the image size so if you want to see them in full size which is 1200x900 then just right click the image and go to open in new window. I did two different dives and took pictures of the same fish and Christmas tree worm. I will post a full size 4000x3000 and then a 1200x900 (100%) crop from each shot for a total of 8 images. The two different lens's are the 45mm macro in the domeport and the wet macro that goes on the 20mm port.
Visibility was much worse on the day I used the wet lens and though these shots are not good ones they give you a reference for judging the differences between the 2 different lens. The white stripes on the Anemone fish do have blue in them even to the naked eye but it does show up more in the pics. I did some WB on the fish but maybe not the same so the colors might be different but nothing jumped out at me between the two.
My overall impression is the 45mm is much better in it's ability to get macro shots. It's 1 to 1 is great and you are a little further back so getting some light on the subject from the strobe is a little easier. Using the wet lens is good because you can take it off and you have 20mm which is more usable then the 45mm lens for non-macro. I'll continue to carry the wet lens for when I have the 20mm on but if I know I want macro I'll be using the 45mm and domeport.

Great job, Mike. Thank you very much!
There's no game, the 45mm is so much better.. but.. if you want a 'all purpose lens' then the 20mm can be a good alternative.
Many many thanks again!

| Indeed a great test Mike! Appreciated!

I never drink water because of the disgusting things that fish do in it.

| Cool test shots... I guess that makes the 45mm a must have!

You're welcome. I hope it helped.
I've had no internet at home for weeks and work has been insane since I got back from vacation so I've been MIA. They worked on our home internet yesterday and today so I'm hoping to get on here a little more.
